Helping Preschoolers Feel Regulated & Ready to Learn

Welcome, Preschool Autism Summit Educators

The Calm Caterpillar is proud to sponsor and participate in the Preschool Autism Summit with Autism Little Learners.

If you’re here, you care deeply about creating supportive, affirming environments where autistic preschoolers can thrive. We do too.

The Calm Caterpillar creates hands-on tools and practical resources that help both neurotypical and neurodivergent children develop emotional regulation skills through deep breathing, sensory input, and play-based learning.

Our goal is simple:
To help children feel calm in their bodies so they can connect, learn, and grow.

Regulation Before Expectation

Preschoolers don’t need more compliance strategies — they need co-regulation, safety, and accessible tools that meet them where they are.

When children experience:

  • Overstimulation

  • Transition stress

  • Communication frustration

  • Big emotions in small bodies

They need supports that are concrete, visual, and sensory-friendly.

That’s why we partnered with Autism Little Learners to create tools specifically designed for neurodivergent preschool classrooms.

Mindfulness Guide for Neurodivergent Learners

A practical, compassionate guide designed for teachers, therapists, and caregivers supporting autistic and neurodivergent children.

Inside you’ll find:

  • Simple breathing routines designed for preschool attention spans

  • Visual supports and language scripts

  • Strategies for co-regulation

  • Ideas for embedding mindfulness into transitions and daily routines

This guide focuses on building regulation skills — not controlling behavior.
